So… It didn’t make it to the previous post, but I wanted to say how I would have loved to visit the Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial, which is the work for which Maya Lin is most known. But then I didn’t want to whine about how DC is quite a distance away, and I’d have to figure out where to stay, but surprise! I found myself in DC just after Christmas. Surprisingly, even though it was the middle of Congress’ Fiscal Cliff debacle, the city still felt mostly filled with tourists. Or maybe it was just that we went to tourism central.

Yes, even with thousands of tourists around, it still feels this peaceful.
